Day 16 and the hormones are raging
You know my genius vet, who knows everything? Saturday and Monday, she says? And I look at her and say fuggetit, this bitch doesn’t even look like she’s in heat? Well, I trusted her and Clue had her first date with the pipette today, and as of tonight all of a sudden the entire house is vibrating with hormones. The other bitches are flipping out, Bramble is spending all his time pressed up against Clue whining softly and rolling his eyes, she’s swollen, and she’s happily standing for his attentions. No, no worries, he IS neutered; no corgidachsussel puppies for us. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know what’s going on and doesn’t try to do his absolute best to make something happen.
I have to call Betty Ann tomorrow to make sure all is well for the early-week shipment, but I think the Saturday insemination was – albeit a week later than she usually peaks – good timing after all. I’m not even going to think puppies yet; I need to get through the next few days and get all the breedings done before I can mentally shift to the next stage. But at least I am no longer convinced that we have the timing totally off. I STILL think this is a bizarre heat cycle, but at least she’s definitely ovulating. Hopefully the double-length proestrus left the uterine lining nice and prepared and all will be well.

I laughed when i read about Bramble. We neutered Loki when we brought Bella home and this heat cycle he was NUTS over here! Nothing like a stumpy corgi trying to mate a collie ;)
GOOD LUCK!!!!!
